Just come in from a visual session - fantastically clear sky but a ridiculously strong breeze so no point in putting the scope up, unfortunately. Even the bins on a tripod were pretty wobbly!

Anyhoo, Jupiter and the Milky Way were an absolute treat tonight - not complaining after the summer we've had.

Checking out just how accurate a SynScan Alt-Az GoTo can be - Now with the benefit of a pillar (in lieu of tripod) on concrete slabs. Getting distracted by, a rather pretty, M34. Might as well stay up for a quick bash at the Moon...

Having a go at NGC7023 the Iris Neb, but hell I miss my autoguiding, got to get my QHY5 sorted. Started early with M13 got a fair number of subs before turning to Iris.

Very clear steady night although I can now see some mist rising over the River.

Started on M33 with some Blue channel subs and a few more hours Lum, now just doing a rough of M82 to see how it looks, test exposure times etc.

Just taken skyflats at ISO400 and ISO800 and Bias at both speeds (about 100 frames of each type) and I am just creating the master flat and master bias files ready to reprocess the data from latnight

My observing session, where the sky was the clearest and darkest I have known this year, was cut short by a kid being sick!! Murphy's law was in operation!!

It's amazing how desperate you become when skies like these are so rare - you just want to make the most of every minute!
