neil phillips
Lovely crater this reminds me of Plato. The area battle scared with fractures. A more careful process. Thought this looked better at 50% downsize. Edited September 3, 2021 by neil phillips

ScouseSpaceCadet
Great image but for me the light adding depth to the cliffs and ridge lines of the Appennines(?) steals the pic'. There's a very recently updated Sir Patrick Moore article about Archimedes at Sky at Night Magazine Online.

Sunshine
A beautiful capture, exposure could not be better as even areas which usually blow out are showing fine detail.

The problem with areas like this as you say controlling the highlights. without the image lacking dynamics. and being impossibly dark. Fortunately there are tricks that can be applied.
