Full Cescent Mosaic 30-12-08

Hi Guys,

Went out with the scope [finally] tonight and had another go with the 180.

I think that the moon is where this scope was designed for. This image is a 27 pane mosaic. Taken with the DMK21 at prime focus on the Skymax 180.

It was too damn cold to do any close up stuff.

I think there is some improvement needed on the merging front, but I'll do that on a cloudy night.

Quite chuffed with this one...

A superb image Ant, especially as it must have been shot as the sky was darkening and at an altitude of 15 degrees or less.

I have to admit that I am really chuffed with this one (nothing like blowing your own trumpet.

Yes Nick it was still light when I started (or close to), first AVI taken at 16:08 (Moon at 17 degrees) last AVI taken at 16:33 (moon at 15 degrees).

The AVI's got steadily worse as the minutes went by. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. So the bottom of the image should be better than the top!

This image took all but 350Mb of my entire free space on the laptop. Need to get a bigger drive or clear out some Rubbish!
