ISS Solar Transit 28-06-19

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

Me and Another member and good mate Les took a trip out this morning to try and grab an ISS Solar Transit.

I really do not have a portable setup at present so ended up having to jerry rig something. The wind was blowing a force 10 which really did not help

This is the result, not 100% happy with it but considering its a first attempt with limited kit I will take it as a win.

Need to get a portable scope setup over the coming weeks for this type of thing I think

Tair 3 M42 Lens (Made in USSR), M42x1 to M42x.75 adaptor, Baader Eyepiece adaptor, ES 3x Extender, Fuji XT2, DIY Solar Filter.

Thanks very much everyone. in hindsight I am pretty stoked with it to be true-full, the fact that I had no idea if I had got it or not until I got the footage home and went frame by frame through the video was a bit nerve racking as well.
I find that Transit Finder is pretty good for this and there is a lunar transit coming my way next week if the weather holds.
