June 19, 2017: 65-pane H-alpha mosaic

Recommended Posts

Managed to grab a load of H-alpha data after dinner, as the sun was setting behind the neighbours house. It was a bit of a rush getting everything captured, but in the end I got there, in part by curtailing the number of frames captured (1000 per pane rather than 2000 which I had been using for a while now). Seeing was not that great, but stacking 200 out of every 1000 in AS!3 worked nicely, and after sharpening in batch mode in ImPPG, the 65 panes stitched in one go in AutoStitch. The disk came out a lot better than I had expected.

Best at full resolution. Not as sharp as yesterday's effort, but still good given the conditions.

I am still processing some longer SER files for detail shots
