OK... its not a full calibration because i've yet to collect flats... But i've subtracted Darks and Bias frames.

It makes a difference to noise levels in the image doen't it...

Lovely image, I prefer the first one as there is more contrast between the different structures in the center.

If you use Photoshop you could layer the two and have the middle from the first one and the faint edges from the second.
