Animation of flare (?) in AR 2565/67, 18th July

Unfortunately, the action was always fully underway when I started recording this at 9.27 this morning. I got 27 sets in half an hour, then thin cloud spoiled things.  A flare in the left hand spot (2567)?  And in the middle, between the spots, is this just a bright area?

That is lovely Iain, fabulous action.  I would say both the areas you mention are flaring.  In one of the many solar books I have (can't recall which) it says it's flaring if it's twice as bright as the general background - it might have been J.L Jenkins book Observing the Sun, A Pocket Field Guide.   This is an excellent book and if the illustrations were better it would unbeatable as an all round guide in my view.

Thanks for feedback everyone. That's very interesting Paul, and new information for me!
