First Ha solar image

Finally had a chance to grab some frames after struggling to get the imaging train on the rails!

This is my first attempt and the seeing wasn't great, but new scope/new camera just had to be shown the sun.

I love the Ha side I have to say, much better than standard filtered imaging I have done before.

So, this was a 100 frame avi with my new QHY5 11 and the LS50, processed through Registax.

not much about in the way of proms/flares, but thee are a few small ones if you look closely.

Great first image, if you take an "overexposed" image you may catch more prom' detail that you can combine with the surface image.

Very nice first image. Perhaps you could try some more unsharp masking to bring out the surface detail a touch more.

Nice first image.  Getting started with a new rig is the toughest thing.  You're well on the way now.

There weren't many proms of note yesterday anyway.  The suggestion of overexposure above will help a lot though... it just takes practice.
