Dear All, I'm Pete, and I've been interested in astronomy/cosmology since I was very young.  However, last year I decided to take thing a bit more seriously starting with a pair of Helios 20x80 bins on a tripod... wonderful experience.  Then for Xmas my wife got me a Skywatcher 200pds with the HEQ5 pro mount.  Just waiting for some clear skies now!

Bins on a tripod are a great way to start in astro. Get Stellarium also, it's free and an amazing guide to learn the skies
