Mothers' Day (Night) Jupiter

Recommended Posts

Hi all:

This was taken with a 9.25SCT, ASI 120mm and 2x Barlow.

It was a busy session for me as I hooked up the Flip-Mirror to the Crayford focuser (Imaging train getting longer what with the crayford, filter wheel, barlow and camera)...I did a rebalance on the telescope)  Also experimenting with the Firecapture autoguider...it works great, though I need to do a bit of tweaking!.  The first few avis seemed to be pretty steady, but as Jupiter moved west a lot of turbulence manifested  and Jupiter appeared to morph into a Jello kind of pulsating blob.

All in all it was another great learning session.

Thanks for looking

Cheers

Nicely done Roger, a very good shot for this late in the season and on first outing for an extended image train.     Might be worth doing a manual alignment and softer process for the moon and then dodge n'burn or paste this over.   Though this is just a minor  tweak on a very good image ;)
