Observing galaxies in the Summer

Last night I gave a talk at my local astro club on this topic..

My presentation included some suggestions of galaxies to look at in the Summer with maps etc..

Nice work Mark. Last night was really good and I was able to view a large number of DSOs with the 20x80 binos. So despite not having astronomical darkness it still worth observing.

How is the new scope getting on?

Cheers Mark, I will study this well before going to France. People often forget about summer galaxies, but I picked up a host of them with my C8 from Tuscany last year. For at least a few nights, I will have access to a 20" dob (Sir Isaac), so will try to go for some "deeper" galaxies. I also want to see the Silver Coin again (gorgeous in my 15x70s from Quercy, but never seen in my scope).

Mark thanks for this great work and  your website with those galaxy maps-it is helping a lot,making things so much easier to find.Using your UMA map I found almost all of the galaxies you have marked on it.I revisited a few the other night for fun,but only had an hour or so of darkness.Thanks again
