Wo wo wo! This is all starting to sound a bit like communism. I cant accept this.... I want the biggest and best equipment and everyone to envy me ^_^

Exactly estwing. A bit of jealousy is good. It promotes one upmanship and and thus progress. Anyway I've thought it all through and if any of the jealously turns nasty I'll just erect a 20ft security fence with external flood lights :)

Faulksy, I'm sure its not THAT animal farm... you naughty boy lol ;)

Never mind this fantasy island thing - get down to the IOW Star Party next year. Few things are perfect in life, but with better weather, being a little nearer to the equator and perhaps 3000m altitude it would be getting close ;)

Also how about, when you go on digs across the island, you unearth not Roman age coins and pots, but optically perfect lenses and superbly ground mirrors in regular sizes....

..and what happens when you start digging and find the statue of liberty.. :shocked:

Accepted, but only on the proviso there are no floodlights!

Lighting is fine as long as it only lights up what you want it to light up with appropriate shielding from all other areas and that it doesn't point upwards.

Hmmm.... but then the footbal field would have to be black to stop any relected light...

How about a fully covered and 'blacked out' window stadium with floodlights?
