noooo not me selling it, my ebay id's very similar to my ID on here but i thought i ask the question, just in case any one messaged the seller after it was ended (which it had the facility to do) thinking it was a cheap and easy fix. and as every one said its not at least we all know :)

me personally wont buy a second hand one unless it was nealy new. expessially not one missing the main part:P

Have to agree with James, the seller has stated that he has received advice and the listing clearly states what's missing. If someone now wishes to purchase this scope then some onus is on the purchaser to research any possible means of repair (something which appears to be near impossible judging by the comments here). - It's listed as spares or repair after all

A comment:

A PST without the etalon doesn't work as an Ha solar scope.

The eyepiece holder MAY still contain the original "mini-erf" and 5mm blocking filter - may be some use as spares.

Other than that it just becomes a "basic" 40mm f10 scope.

(Looking at the serial - it may be an older model with the erf coating on the objective - "gold" - may also be rusted.....)

It eventually sold for £52, plus £8 postage.

The parts may well be useful, so if they're are in good condition then that's probably fair. Still a bit of a gamble perhaps, given that there's no indication that, for example, the mini-ERF is in good nick.
