I have just bought this..

Its a bit big...14 inch..

So my galaxy count might just go up a little bit more.

It's a beast indeed. And yes, your galaxy count will go up. Lol, the Telrad looks like a little mosquito on the back of a large turtle

If I were you and knew what I'm doing, I'd give it a nice paint job

Thanks folks..Yes I think the wood box needs a paint job...

It was on ABS. From what I can tell it was acquired by North Essex Astro society and lovingly restored..It has fresh mirrors but is an old lady from what I can tell so will need to be looked after.

The wife is fine as long as I also buy a shed to house it!

I will make sure it is put to good use hunting down galaxies.

I was discussing that scope and another similar one that was recently on UK AB&S with a fellow enthusiast. Dark Star scopes have a good reputation

Nice one, Fieldview astronomy B & B near Fakenham in North Norfolk had a 14" Dark Star Dob, I was lucky to use it for the 2003 close opposition of Mars, great views.
