Hi all,

I've just purchased a Celestron 6SE which is second-hand a little over a week ago. It was the easier way for me to get into astronomy and at the level I wanted to begin at. The 6SE has been the scope of choice for me for over a year now. Unfortunately it arrived minus any software and RS232 / RJ11 cable and so I have managed to purchase these from Misco UK at a fraction of the cost. Of course my PC has no serial port so that has meant an upgrade to allow RS232 to operate. Despite the disappointment of it not being shipped with the scope its a small price to pay for a great scope supplied through Telescope Outley by Astronomia, Dorking.

My 'first-light' was Tuesday 5 Feb and I was thriled by clear views of Jupiter - of course! Collimation is very slightly out and I will attend to this as soon as skies permit. I wondered if any other 6SE owners might have recommendations for eyepieces and perhaps advice as to whether or not there is benefit to fitting an SCT foccuser?

Many thanks to all for reading and Clear Skies

regards from Kilmacolm - Colin
