I'd just like to say hello. I have bought a Skywatcher 130p with the money I received for my 40 years service with my company. I had a play with it last night outside just to get used to it. I know this hobby is going to take a long time and I have a lot of learning to do so please be patient with me.

Hi Macca and welcome to SGL, well done on your 40 years service with the same company, I just managed short of 30 myself, until I had to retire through ill health. nice scope you have, if you havn`t already done so download the free program Stellarium, it will help you find your way about the night sky, enjoy your Astronomy :)

Hi Macca, I'm fairly new here myself and can assure you that you're definitely in the right place for friendly help and advice. I've learnt so much in a short space of time.

Congrats on 40yrs and new scope, it's important to have an interest to fill the gap left when you pack up work. I can't wait :grin:
