Hello from the north!

I just wanted to say hello from Canada. I am very new to astronomy, but after having a good read through these forums, a lot of great advice has me headed in the right direction.

I have an old pair of binoculars mounted on an old tripod, and with the aid of KStars/Stellarium/Skychart, I have been thoroughly enjoying the last week observing the heavens.

I am not sure what the neighbours think yet, but I am sure they will get used to the lone figure sitting in the dark behind a pair of binoculars!

Cheers!!

Good advice! I will make sure I do that!

Welcome to the forum. As you say, plenty of advice here if you need it. Do you have good dark skies where you are, or are you a town/city dweller and cursed with light pollution?

"Small" city dweller, so darker skies are not far from where I am located.
