Introducing myself

Hi All,

I live just outside the New Forest in Hampshire, and I've long had a (very) casual interest in astronomy, but no gear. When I say casual, I mean I can recognise the moon and a few of the constellations!

Now I'm getting on a bit (rapidly approaching 60), I thought I'd treat myself to a reasonable telescope, and also try to get my grandson interested in something other than a playstation or x-box!

I expect this to be my first post of many, as I'm sure I'll have lots of questions, not least of which is what gear to get!
