yeah sure will :) I currently don't own a telescope but I am looking into investing for one! I am actually reading through the practical astronomer book by DK books at the moment and other various information and guides on astronomy and astrophotography. :)

Setting off to Wales this eve, should be there for just after midnight, accuweather reports clear night down Usk way, however the less said about wednesday and thursday nights cloud cover the better.

Don the thermals if your off to Winscarr, it was somewhat nippy in that wind last night

You got anywhere with your delis yet Damian?

Would pop out but knackered from last night's debacle

I've not really tried it since crash so I'll reserve judgement as yet on the delos eye piece?

It was much warmer today out on the mtb than yesterday but the thermals will be a good idea if the clouds clear enough to make a trip out.

Lots of high cloud at present but hoping for some more meteors at least.

I went out Just in the garden for nearly an hour last night but lots of cloud and only saw 4 meteors so that's it for this years persieds by the looks of it?

Jupiter again looked majestic at 5am and nice to see the king of the planets back in the dawn skies.

I'm hoping the weather is clear sat night as I may head to sutton bank?

Yes - I went up Sutton Bank last night with the family to watch the persieds. Got there about 11 and the sky was really dark and clear. The perseids were great. Some of them were so bright they lit up the sky leaving a smoky trail behind them. Superb. There were quite a few other persied watchers there, some with cameras and some other gear - I was a bit apprehensive about approaching in the dark to see if they were Wakefield SGL or WADAS guys.

It was a bit like picadilly circus as cassiopeia/perseus were in the direction of the road exiting from the car park so we had to contend with car headlights messing up dark adapted eyes. Trees on that side a bit high too. Where do you lads usually locate yourself up Sutton Bank?

Up by the gliding club sammy.

Yeah it's a hefty wedge, I often think about that when I'm hurtling down a rutted track in the middle of no where on my bit of carbon fibre and aluminium!

And stupid as it may seem I've not totted up what all my equipment costs to be honest eeeek!

20" mirror on astro b&s oooo tempting!
