There are many better photos of Mars, but this was taken with my telescope in my back garden in the early hours of Valentine's Day. How exciting is that?

Hi,

Welcome; you'd do better to post a JPEG version. I can't open your TIFF on this machine.

In another thread I was arguing that taking your own photo is like playing a musical instrument. It doesn't matter whether or not someoene else can do it better, it is a worthwhile thing to do it yourself. I get the feeling you see it this way as well.

While other people images may be clearer, sharper, more detailed and technically superb....

Your own images will always give you a sense of achievement.
