Hi everyone,

Just joined the forum - and what a friendly place it seems to be :o

My daughter has recently been enjoying a topic on space at school, and this has rekindled my boyhood interest in astronomy.

I've been able to show her Jupiter + moons and the rings of Saturn through my birding telescope.....but of course I'll be looking to get something more suited to the night sky very soon :(

Hi Simon and welcome to the forum. Friendly we may seem, but to be honest its all an illusion I'm afraid and in fact the forum should be renamed StarGnashers!:(:D Of course I'm joking (...looking over his shoulder very carefully) we're are all friendly and willing to help anyone who is interested to find out so welcome aboard.

No question is a stupid one though I can't guarantee the same for the answers you might get!:o:D

Thanks for the 'welcomes' everyone. Some clear skies tonight..yey!

It's amazing how much technology has helped me get back into it. Downloaded Stellarium a fews days ago...wow, what a program! With it's help and a bit of star hopping have been able to track down Uranus and Neptune for the first time ever, and earlier tonight Vesta.
