How long was that exposure and is the ISS geo-stationary

The exposure was about 45 seconds in all I think with Nikon 5400 on a barn door mount.

Geo stationary stuff stay in the same part of the sky by moving at

the same rate as the earth. The ISS isn't one of those.

Thanks guys.

So which bit went wrong Phil?

CC, it was always going to be touch and go (but that never bothered me before :D)

The pass was at 18:25 so the sky was still fairly light. Also, the moon was "next door" to Orion

and the ISS was predicted at a fairly low brightness magnitude.

Needed at least 40 seconds to bring out Orion and the track but was getting a negative effect from

the sky brightness.

Still, it came together sort of and I do like messing with these happenings.

Can't beat a camera with a max 10 minute exposure on a drift aligned barn door mount screwed to

a solid 4*4 pier. 8) :D
