  1. I need to replace the secondary screws on a new 6” Newtonian I recently acquired but for the life of me I can’t remember the actual thread size. I recall that they are 30mm in length but can’t remember the thread size. Anyone know? Thanks.
  2. Nothing but cloud and rain in Oxford unfortunately. I'm definitely going to invest in a G&G for those short sessions squeezed into the cloud gaps.
  3. That's a handsome telescope. I'm looking forward to when you can get a proper session with it 🤞.
  4. Great, I actually have both Apple and Android devices so I have my bases covered. Thanks again.
  5. I was just about to recommend the same scope @John. There's a lot more to see up there than solar system objects despite being bortle 7.
  6. Thanks Andrew. So I can basically install the kit and then connect it to my Android phone/tablet and use Sky Safari to control the telescope and mount?
  7. It's pretty straightforward to me. Do whichever makes you happy and brings you satisfaction. Be it one or the other or indeed both, that's what matters to me.
  8. If the spikes are difficult to see just incase the exposure.
  9. Another couple of great images Peter 👍.
  10. What sort of mount do you have your existing 114/1000 reflector on? This will greatly influence recommendations.
  11. It’s definitely your phone/camera that is lagging. The Oppo A53 is known to become slow and laggy with age unfortunately. As already advised a phone/camera full reset may be advantageous.
  12. Delivered today was a pair of Celestron Omni 32mm plossl’s for the MBII’s. A Baader Neodymium and variable polarising filter. I was going to buy more expensive 32mm eyepieces but I recall using one of these years ago and found them to be relatively sharp to about 85% of the FOV. Would I benefit from upgrading these in the future?
  13. Place the scope somewhere dark and shine a handheld torch at the rear of the primary mirror. If you can see the light cone coming through the mirror then the aluminum coat on the mirror is failing and will require to be recoated .
  14. Exactly the same scenario for me in Oxford. First light for a new scope delayed again 🙄.
  15. Another fantastic capture of the Jovian giant Kostas. You give me inspiration for sure.
  16. Wow! Might actually get a bit of sunlight soon then.
  17. I placed the Starsense unit from my 8” dobsonian to my 12” F5 1500mm FL. As previously stated the targets are always in my FOV with a 17.5 Morpheus.
  18. There's an almost new Skytee for sale in the classifieds that has an APM saddle fitted. I can also recommend the seller.
  19. As far as I can see it comes with the standard saddles as is supplied with the Skytee. The Stella Lyra does come with the counterweight(s).
  20. The mount sold with the Stella Lyra tripod is actually a Skytee mount. I have been weighing up between a Berlebach and the Stella Lyra tripod myself.
  21. The only thing I can draw is my breath. Great first attempt 👍.
  22. Another nice capture of Saturn. To my eye it looks a tad sharper 👍.
  23. Would I be able to use my Android tablet to connect to the telescope with Sky Safari? I only do visual so no laptop required in my case.
  24. I owned the 26 and 17mm. The 17mm was the sharpest plossl I’ve ever looked through. I have no idea why I do these things, but I sold them both 🙄. I now find myself hankering after a pair of the 17’s for binoviewing.
  25. I am actually curious about this range of eyepieces as well especially the 2”.
