Been fluy this last week or so as well, Jules. Hopefully as spring pushes on, it'll be shaken off. Hope you get well soon.

  5. Second time today i have set up a scope, then it starts raining

  6. so i finally get a decent finish time at work with a late start next day.....cloud and rain grrr

    1. Naemeth

      Naemeth

Sorry about that, the clouds from my new (to me) scope must've drifted down to Huddersfield...

    2. Qualia

      Qualia

Ay, I think there's some law about that kind of thing, Jules. I don't want to be a downer but it looks like the UK will be hit by quite a lot of cloud over the next few days and into next week :-(

  7. sorting the spring star camp for early may with luck

  8. Still not powered up the HEQ5, paranoid about blowing it up!!!

    1. Qualia

      Qualia

  9. Telrad incoming, for the newt

Ay, I agree, Foundaplanet and sorry to hear your frustration, Nightfisher. It's a tricky hobby to maintain every night, but astronomy can be filled with astro-related studies that augment the pleasure when there is the opportunity to head out.

    3. nightfisher

      nightfisher

I will be staying with it, just find it so frustrating that work always seems to get in the way of a clear night, a job change has been on the cards for some time

    4. Vince1963

      Vince1963

I agree nightfisher..Shifts are the bane of my life, more often than not clear skies when working

  11. Thinking i might concentrate my astro on Luna only (-:

    1. todd8137

      todd8137

That would be a great move ,most of the last five years as been moon based and I never get bored of looking at imaging or talking about it

  12. Thinking i might just sell up and call it a day, the scopes just sit cluttering up the house

    3. Luke

      Luke

It's been a lean spell for me, though I am clinging on to the thought that what we see is truly amazing, when we do finally get to see it! Hope you find a good solution one way or the other.

      Qualia

Good luck with that one! I'd help if I could, but I'm not so good with computer stuff.

  14. Turning my back on DSO objects, who needs to hunt for silly little clouds, i can find clouds any time of the day or night, sticking to Solar system, but concentrating on Luna

I do like the term silly little clouds even though that's what I spent 4 hours on last night.. I guess. The good thing with Luna is there are always evolving views bring different views to the same object especially when the terminator is involved, loads of things to see again and again.. I always enjoy my Luna obs.

    4. nightfisher

      nightfisher

Solar system is more dynamic, things like shadow transits, partial illuminated craters, sun spots in white light, the Cassini division and so on

  15. well, that`s a four year relationship down the drain,

    1. Fozzie

      Fozzie
