  1. Are you saying that a premium Apo and mount doesnt make a difference go to astrobin look at the guys with best images who are well known look at their images before and after they got their new equipment from EQ6-R Pro to 1100 GTO or EQ8 to 10 Micron GM 2000 HPS II from great image to APOD the better the mount the better the image also the CCD
  2. It looks like im going to be selling my ASI294mc Pro this 2600 is going to be one for the Astronomy history books the ASI294mc Pro made history as putting an end to DSLR and bringing in the masses with low budget cooled CCD this 2600 has it all everything no Amp glow large chip 16 bit its a Beast.
  3. Love to see what you could do if given my TSA-120FT and a proper mount even a EQ6-R Pro never mind EQ8-R Pro you have reached a skill level that has way surpassed you Equipment with a cooled CCD you could get APODs dont mean to be harsh.
  4. Think of getting the Sharpstar 76EDPH later if the 61 can do this
  5. So only Apos why isnt the mount promoted as a refractor only mount so your telling me you cannot even align the mount with a mirror scope
  6. Davey what do you mean 10 micron dont work with Edge HD SCT or Newts iv seen many with them work perfect
  7. Oh my god you have the 10MicronGM1000HPS with this i demand images with this show me what 60 sec gets then 120 sec get 240 then 300

  10. Lovely detail right colour tone as well and with very good equipment you have others with better premium gear are able to do far less.
  11. The Celestron CGX is not overkill the mount is the most important part of astrophotography then the scope i learned the hard way Celestron mounts are the easiest mounts to use with the best software and Nexstar+ hand control Ioptron are a bit harder to use for learners not like the great All-Star Alignment Ioptron CEM-60 is a great mount too but little more advanced for learner but could get use to very quickly.
  12. iOptron ipolar is more easy to use but are basically the same SharpCap just like p[olemaster
  13. The EdgeHD are much better you can take really good images with SCT with flattener /Reducer but EdgeHD have pinpoint stars and mirror locks
  14. Now with the new Skywatcher EQ8R they are about the same maybe the EQ8R because of its evolution design since hitting the market in late 2012 would have the edge in my book yes it doesnt look as good as the CEM-120 but i think it has the edge the CGX-L is really not a new mount at all its really an Advanced Ultra compact Cge Pro that uses the same motors worm gears counterweight bar and counterweights all three have their own small teething problems Celestron has by far the best hand controller and software.
  15. StarSense hand controller package works with all Skywatcher mounts you can buy them
  16. I was about to say may the powers of Grayskull be with you RIP mount 😂💀 Grayskull Lives
  17. Your not doing it right read the manual again turn mount 90 degrees on side position 1 then position 2 then position 3
  18. CGX is a better mount and the All-Star alignment is a classic insanely easy and very accurate but you must use crosshair eyepiece thats the catch do it twice and it will be even better Chuck Ayoub on youtube has CGX have you seen his work EQ6 Pro is very good mount too.
  19. I cannot say enough praise about the amazing Tracer 12v 24ah i bought to run my mount Intel NUC8 and ASI294mc Pro ccd for nearly six hours and still be half full i might buy another Tracer 12v 24ah for running my two dew straps i tested them on the same battery gone five hour and was just under half full these LifePo4 batteries are just insane they just keep running.
  20. Hello new to this forum i have a CEM-120 mount and Ipolar camera i have it polar aligned but the it wont go to objects only a few i think its the UTC what is the correct UTC for Dublin Ireland is it the same as England UTC +60 i miss the simple All-Star Alignment from Celestron only thing i dislike about my mount is Ioptron software
