  1. Chuckles! I guessed as much.....
  2. Bit beyond me Merlin - I wouldn't even know where to start and keep safe.... Does anyone know what's in the Lunt module?
  3. Even with the extra illumination that's full of life... Is there something else in the image train?
  4. Wonderful. I'm going to stick my neck out here - can your phone do a video good enough to use stack for AS3?
  5. Thanks Pete - it's less expensive option - my worry is whether it just ends up being a slightly enhanced version of 'normal' white light. There has to be a reason for the high cost of the Lunt module - beyond the £/$ exchange. At £365 for the filter it might be worth saving for that proverbial non-rainy day. There is a Quark at a mid-price point...but needs an ERF and F7+ scope....
  6. I find GONG helps... http://halpha.nso.edu/index.html That's if the cameras are aligned in similar fashion!
  7. We have a similar temperature. Good luck if you get another chance today. Perhaps if I lock my 'scopes away and lose the keys it might turn sunny! Once upon a few days ago clear outside promised today would be in the green!
  8. We have wind 20-30 knots, and it's cloudy! - Again! Good to see you still imaging....
  9. Holy moley! That's a cracking gem of an image!
  10. Thanks - I know Lunt recommend <100mm, so wondered how you managed to counter the extra size. Do you know what the tolerance is on that < 100mm - +/- 10mm (say)? I'm going to assume a 102 isn't stretching things too much - thinking ahead a wee bit now.....
  11. Some folk have all the luck! Great shots..... ps. what do you use your Lunt Cak module in - the 150mm?
  12. WOW. Thanks, extremely useful. Looks like the module, then!
  13. Interesting exercise. Have you ever tried a Baader Continuum?
  14. You've gotten one more than I - still stuck beneath cloud. I was hoping 2759 would brew into something!
  15. Hi all, Does anyone have any images to compare the Baader k-line filter with the Lunt B1200 module, that would help justify the big cost of the Lunt. I'm thinking of upgrading my 102 white light imaging. One way I'm thinking is to concatenate the Lunt white ledge with baader -continuum and -k line. How much better than straight white light would that be, and how much worse than getting the module at some £1600! Haven't considered, yet, a calcium quark.... Just thinking out loud whilst I wait for the sun to appear - 10 days, it has to be there somewhere, and not in a gale, due tomorrow!
  16. All I've got is sodding cloud! ClearOutside doesn't give me a window until Friday! Good shots!
  17. The detail in the blowup - in shadow is stunning.
  18. The subtle glint of sun on the peaks. Magnificent.
  19. Having never used one, I don't know the quality. You'll certainly see sunspots and some other activity on the disc, not too sure how much granulation you'll pick up. See this link https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/seymour-solar-12-x-12-thin-film-solar-sheet.html
  20. p.s. find the Sun! It's been lacking for a week now, however there's little to be seen using white light (at the moment), though an old sunspot might return soon after its travel around the backside of the Sun. https://www.raben.com/maps suggests it's just about to re-appear.
  21. I have used, successfully, two white light systems. One involved covering the big end with Baader Film - which I used on a skywatcher reflector. I now use a Lunt Herschel Wedge at the small end of a 102 refractor. There are other options, including adding a Daystar Quark which takes you into narrow-band observing/imaging. Cost-wise, the film is cheaper, then the wedge....
  22. Yes, looking forward to the colder snap - at least it'll clear this cloud and we'll get rid of that tantalising strip of blue which has been there these last three days!. Then it'll be shower dodging. I'll have to have a look at PF - I tried to ditch PS a while ago in favour of Luminar but their latest version is difficult(L4).
  23. Very well teased. Meanwhile we remain under cloud for the sixth day! Blue skies to our North and Northwest, not getting any closer (yet!)
  24. Nice. I'm surprised there's more detail on the B&W than the coloured version....
  25. Virgin effort very good......👏
