    Hi there :)

    Hi Fin, welcome to SGL.
  2. Great thank you very much for your reply, I thought it wold be metric but wanted to make sure. 👍
  3. Might be a long shot but does anyone know what size the thread is on a Skywatcher EQ3-2 counter weight bar.
  4. Hi Tom, welcome to our community.
  5. Hi Luke, welcome back to SGL, who doesn’t like Jaffa cakes ?
  6. I keep all my gear in the garage and have not had any problems (yet) 😀
  7. Good for you, I’m sure you will find it more satisfying than getting someone else to do it. If you run into any problems there are plenty of members her to help you.
  8. It is not as difficult as you think to clean the mirror, there are plenty of tutorials showing step by step instructions. I did mine for the first time early this year and found it very easy.
  9. Is it the mirror you are wanting cleaned ?

    New here

    Hi and welcome to SGL.
  11. Exactly, sometimes we overthink a problem. My problem was trying to get my binoviewers to fit tightly as sometimes there was very little room to get a grip. Now I have a good selection of thumb screws for most applications and life is so much easier.
  12. Hi Stan, welcome to SGL, hope you have deep pockets 😀

    Hi all.

    Hi and welcome to SGL.
  14. Hi Phil, welcome to SGL, great first scope choice, enjoy 😊
  15. Both the AZ4 and AZ5 are good mounts but the aluminium tripod is not so good. I use the 3/8” stainless steel tripod with the AZ5 and it can take up to 9kg and is very solid
  16. They are rechargeable so the batteries don’t need changing. You can also charge your phone and they have a built in light.
  17. If you don’t want the smell then I recommend the USB rechargeable hand warmers. I have poor circulation and these are the most effective and convenient hand warmers I have ever used, in fact I have 2 pairs to make sure I am never without.
  18. Hope your back problem is resolved soon.

    Hi Danny, welcome to SGL.
  21. I have had both and IMO the AZ5 is much more manageable. They were both mounted on the Skywatcher 3/8” stainless steel tripod which does not require an adapter and they were both very solid. The slow motion controls make the AZ5 much more user friendly.
  22. Hi and welcome to SGL, you won’t be disappointed with that scope.
