  1. My solar shed has been painted takahashi green this summer, opps, sorry, sage green, lol 😆
  2. I live on the edge of Bortle 4 going into Bortle 3 on the map. I can easily distinguish the milky way without averted vision yey the chart says I shouldn't be able to see it. It seems really dark at this time of year and I have to watch where I'm walking so I don't trip over walking to the dome. People use torches to walk up the road here.
  3. Awwwwww, sorry Rusted, just trying to put a little sunshine into people's lives, ☀️
  4. Awwww, thanks mog3768, much appreciated, glad you enjoy my solar imaging.
  5. Managed a challenging solar imaging and observation this afternoon. Cloud's whipping by. Just before complete cloud cover at 2.40pm there was a very bright flare from AR3480 that began at 2.32UT and continued up to cloud cover. Also flaring on the upper North West limb with spray prom. A lovely long segmented filaprom in the North East quadrant associated with a prom.
  6. We are nearing solar maximum so more activity than usual. However there's always something different to observe with our own star on the doorstep.
  7. Yeah, had the notification too but clouds here too.😭
  8. Thanks David, much appreciated. Go for it, makes a huge difference.
  9. Thanks Carole, much appreciated. Weather's been awful so only able to get a few days worth of observations.
  10. Hi all, just posting some high lights of solar activity from October 2023. Lunt 60mm DS, 100mm Bresser and Lunt 1800 Cak module and 125mm Opticstar with Hurshal Wedge and G-Band filter. All images obtained with Zwo Asi 178mm.
  11. I use Zwo Asi 178mm for all my solar imaging sessions, whether that be Cak, HA or WL.
  12. I ventured out at midnight as the forecast was clearing with a two hour window. Raining, lol, hum, went back in looked at the forecast, clearing now at 12.15am. So ventured back out and rain stopped by the time I got the dome open and things switched on. My target was Jupiter and it didn't disappoint. The banding and intricate details in both North and south equatorial bands and regions were amazing. The best I've seen in a long while. Blue patches of cloud vortexes, swirls and white spot's clearly visible. Io getting further and further away from Jupiter. Missed the transit but well worth going out for an hour.
  13. I eventually saw a little of it as the clouds lifted a bit on and off for about 45mins. Just a pic of the camera screen.
  14. Got a great view here of rain drops 😌 Decided not to open the dome and go old school if the rain ever stops in time.
  15. Thanks, no, I'm far from being a math's expert despite having two degrees, still didn't understand it, lol.
