  1. It is a question of seeing and atmospheric disturbance. I know my scope can do better as Jupiter isn't that bad. Attached Jupiter using the same set up.
  2. It was rubbish seeing and low still for me between hedge and tree's 😭
  3. Posting my first image of Saturn, rubbish I know, to low really from here. C11 plus 2.5x powermate and zwo asi 462mc camera.
  4. Well I tested the guidescope with the Zwo Asi 120mm and I got focus after taking off a 2inch extension tube. Inward focus should bring it to focus now so I'll see how I go with the guidescope before a fork out any money on an off axis guider. Nice pic of the neighbours monkey puzzle tree top, lol.
  5. Only with an eyepiece, I'll try with the camera perhaps tomorrow weather permitting.
  6. Yeah, did the focus with eyepiece during the day, taking the 120mm out of the eyepiece holder it brightens to white so it's working. I'll have to try it during the day through the scope. I'm baffled as to why to be honest. Unless the camera has had it's day. I'll try my 462mc and see if that gives any results through the scope.
  7. Hiya, I can't reach focus with my zwo asi 120mm on the 70mm f6 Ed refractor. I've tried inward focus, outward focus, but nothing but black. I've even upped the gain, exposure and then I see hot pixels. I've used extension tubes on and off, nothing.
  8. I too saw the Jovian eclipse, never seen one before either. Didn't even know that's what happened, I thought it had been blotted out by cloud, lol. Till I saw your post. It did gradually fade. Interesting to see.
  9. Yeah, already got a guide scope but was wondering if an off axis guider would be better.
  10. Nice, was thinking about the same for my orion 12inch f4
  11. I saw clouds and lot's of rain last night, lol 😆
  12. I'm reading these posts and I read one, I'm persuaded on an OAG then I read another post and persuaded the guidescope is the way, I'm like a cork tossed to a fro in a sea of opinions, lol.
  13. Another Jupiter session this evening, quite a dark bluish disturbance in North equatorial zone and equatorial band. Quite distinctive. Also three interesting vortexes around the red spot.
  14. Managed to get a glimpse of Saturn this evening, but mostly concentrated on Jupiter. Nice clear night 🌙 yay, lol.
  15. Hi all, what's your take on this? Currently I have a 70mm telescope that I could use as a guide scope. Would there be any benefit to getting and using an off axis guider. I'd be using an altair astro 26c on a C11 @ f6.3 or a 12inch f4 newtonian on the Eq8. Thanks for looking.
  16. Many thanks, much appreciated Saganite.
  17. Definitely Jim, lol. I'll take it to flog it (a tv program that values and sends to auction antiques, for those who might not understand the joke from outside the UK, lol) 😆
