  1. Very nice Neil, some decent detail still visible there.
  2. Are you using the Opticstar PX-126C and 200mm reflector? Are you using Firecapture, i ask because it records a nice capture file you could post on here. I am not sure you are going to manage an exposure of 5ms on Saturn, it is quite a dim target even for my C9.25/Asi224mc set up. I use around 15ms and a high gain setting.
  3. A very nice return to imaging, techniques and equipment have certainly moved on at an incredible speed in those 10 years.
  4. it was frustrating, Jetstream out of the way, but still not great.
  5. Took me by complete surprise. I imaged it earlier between the gap in the conifer trees, slightly higher at that time and it wasn't anything special.
  6. And finally, Mars from around Midnight. Unfortunately, very close to next doors chimney pots 🙂 180 seconds captured, stacked 20%. C9.25, Asi224mc, ADC, X1.8 Barlow.
  7. After the excitement of a decent Saturn image (see earlier post) I had quite high hopes for Jupiter. But as we are nearly all finding the seeing seems good, but focus stills seems very difficult to nail down for any period of time. Definitely the best of the year for myself though. 180 seconds captured, stacked 20%. C9.25, Asi224mc, ADC, X1.8 Barlow.
  8. I was surprised to see how decent this image was on the night, considering it was already on the way down when i imaged it. Probably my best of the year i think, it boded well for Jupiter later in the evening......hopefully 🙂 300 seconds captured, stacked 20%. C9.25, Asi224mc, ADC, X1.8 Barlow.
  9. Looks pretty decent again Neil, not quite what we all looking for though is it? 🙂 I guess the Holy Grail of seeing is what keeps us all going out there night after night. Conditions as normal really, despite the lack of the Jetstream. Focus in/out all night, even when Jupiter was at its highest point.
  10. Another pretty good image Neil, you of course exactly right about craving "special nights where it all comes together" it is the thing that drives us on. The hope that when you put the camera in you will be greeted by super sharp in focus image. I cannot remember the last time i saw such a sight! That light is dreadful, i would suggest complaining to the council, but we all know how frustrating that can be!
  11. it is a good looking image, i would also suspect the culprit is A/S3 as well
  12. That is a nice image Neil, plenty of details visible there. Good to have the sandstorm confirmed, like everyone has said hopefully it is not like the one the other year!
  13. Some really nice details there, despite the focus issues
  14. Looks a pretty good image to me, despite the difficulties in focussing
  15. A fine looking image, great start to the season!
  16. Superb image, so good to see the moons on show.
