  1. Nice set Derek, I intend to run from the 10mm down, so 2 to go for me.
  2. Post person attended today and I brings my XW collection to short fl ones. Now have the 5XW and 3.5XW. Just need to add the 10XW and 7XW as time passes and I will be in EP Nirvana. Used from fleabay, very nice condition indeed. Sorry FLO bought used as I was about to pull the trigger on a new one from you.
  3. Nice project and progress. I look forward to following this. Would love an observatory one day, but house building works stop this for now. Good luck with your build. Glad to see it was not only me toiling away under the sun over the weekend.
  4. and there was me thinking it was a comfy stool for observing from......... then I remembered your an imaging guru. Nice parcel, will we see an unwrapped version soon Sara?
  5. You look away from a thread for a few days and the world of SGL goes mad. That poor postal service has been rather busy in June so far. Has it been cloudy or something?
  6. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ There speaks the Concrete Block Pier Master ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  7. Oddly, when I looked at this my initial thought was....'why has Mike got a box of ice cubes?' Took a minute to see the pouches. I must need a start of the weekend cold one!
  8. Resolve or will power with a used scope, what’s that? I don’t think it exists does it?
  9. I am surprised based on the number of Tak owners here on SGL that no one else has had the same issue Steve. As you say get it mounted (treads lightly hoping it does not set things going again) and see how it goes. Good luck with it and keep us all informed.
  10. Dear SGLers, please stop this right now! How one of our members chooses to mount his fine scope, that is his or her choice. If the type of mounting, type, colour or number offends, oh well.......we are all different are we not. If someone has an opinion that they wish to very much MOUNT the very expensive scope they have bought and they express the opinion that the standard equipment is not up to the job, so be it, its a personal choice. This escalating post situation, has gone beyond me and any agreement I may have had from an engineers background. Put a stop to this right NOW, all of you - Play nice, be nice.
  11. Look nice Paul, enjoy the sunshine Its raining here in southern Essex. Nice be avatar
  12. All I need for now too Michael...... Sorry its not all eyepieces! ?
  13. As is thinking your eyepiece collection is complete..........
  14. I was so waiting for a hacksaw picture Steve...... Pheww, that is such a modular design, they are clever our friends at Takahashi.
  15. A very interesting post, thank you. I too have wondered about these meters as I am probably needing to find observing sites away from home due to spot lights issues on two sides, I once had a darkish site at home, I no longer do, but that’s typical for many. The accurate assessment of the sky using such a meter sounds very practical and reliable. But as Neil says above, many other items have a bigger call on funds at present.
  16. That looks interesting Jeremy, please let us know what its like.
  17. Well I had to show the family and the unaltered home, which is work in progress. All now Made in Japan, hence my Avatar change.
  18. Are we having a Vixen love affair or do you have others too?
  19. I think I am turning Japanese,
    I really think so.......
More Made in Japan optics arrived into the fold.

John, I rather like Sushi as well as Optics. ?

  20. Far nicer in my opinion, better build quality, more comfortable and as you say wider by 20 degrees. I have gone Japanese with Vixen LVW, Pentax and some Televue made in Japan. Some Chinese, but that's now going due to eye relief and my changing eyes!
  21. Now that's a Mini PC! Tee Hee. In all seriousness, really, that's a fully functional PC? Wow, these things are small.
  22. Post person Pat or Patricia has been and left a fine addition to my eyepiece case. ? ? Very Happy Bunny ? ? Just wish I had not sold the 10mm to a fellow SGLer. Of course it has arrived with a sky full of clouds after last night being clear but wobbly.
  23. OH, very nice purchase, they should be a fine addition. What is the scope or scopes they are to be used with from your collection?
