  1. Oh yes please, let’s have a Tak love in and show each part piece by piece. I think one of you should start at the front end and show each glass element one at a time ?
  2. I knew Richard was going to rather strongly mount that Tak; but wowzer! How heavy is that Tak?? Shame its hanging on the top mount of a Skytee 2, I would not hang a scope of that cost on one, I know others do, but.....
  3. Well, the good post person visited today and delivered a new family member, brand new and boxed. Nice and far lighter than I expected although I had the specification and read 25585's write up about his version. This is the second 2" eyepiece I have ever owned, had the 28mm Sky-Watcher with my ED100, thought that was big, but no this is a little bigger and very nice build quality. I even like the eye lens cover (cup) 25585! Here it is with the rest of the family, some further additions may be added as funds and availability allows.
  4. Very nice, how does the lamination behave under a red light?
  5. Wait until you look through it Mike, then you should give a bigger WOW! Love my 22 LVW to bits.
  6. They have escaped, slowly rise and show later, its not instant!
  7. I saw a 3" fit ES at Telescope House a few weeks ago, I popped in as was passing, it was huge, the EP that is. You will need to pump iron to look like Arnie before you buy one
  8. Nice mount Shelster, Nice move up from the AVX I should hope. Await the first light postings.
  9. Doc, that's a nice box and and excellent use. Will look wonderful once done. Perhaps some baize or similar within to pad it?
  10. Well the incoming has arrived, thanks Tring Astro. Mmmm a collection starting I think. That now makes 22mm, 13mm and 8mm LVW's.
  11. You certainly did keep that quiet. A very nice scope indeed. I often wonder what a vx6l would do that my 150p f5 does not do? Have you a thread on this like you did with the other Mike or are you still recovering from that epic test?
  12. Fozzie, very good of you, thanks. Enjoy the filters soon no doubt.....it’s uk weather after all.
  13. They have one less as of yesterday.... incoming
  14. If it is like the 22mm, which I am sure it is, then yes it will perform flawlessly to my eyes.
  15. Postie arrived and I am now a very happy camper. This arrived.... Its brand new and joins my 22mm LVW, yes I am now the happy owner of a ....... 13mm LVW and its as described, thank you Tring Astronomy Centre. This has taken me a lot of pain and thought to decide this route, which I know is difficult as its a defunct line, but to me, the clarity, comfort and build quality wins the day.
  16. Look forward to you posting and the pictures that follow.
  17. The photos in listing were carefully presented and chosen, it was the sides not shown that Dave quite rightly has a issue with. Over recent years it’s what you are not shown that should sound alarm bells with Fleabay listings.
  18. Dave, sorry to read this, but also glad I held back from bidding on this very item. The description and photos as you quite rightly say were not representing the items true condition, unfortunate and very typical of some vendors on the bay. Paypal will cough up within a reasonable time frame, just feels like forever when it’s your money.
  19. As the final posting by me on this: 'If I were to chop my LVW 22mm'........I would be mad! It's just too much of a nice eyepiece, easy to use, comfortable, clear and sharp and something of a hero in my eyepiece case. If you had not realised its staying and is a keeper. Must note that the 19mm Panoptic that nearly knocked it out is also a keeper for my short scopes for easier balance, I rather like the 19mm Pan too.
  20. That looks rather a fine scope and has history to boot, enjoy.
  21. Red Dwarfer, wow, that is quite some scope. Relieved when the last image was NOT of your Niece headless after the tube dropped and shut onto her, thank goodness. Nice step up from your 200p, do you get the conditions to use a 350mm scope much or is this a once in a while use to go with the 200mm?
  22. Eastman, that is one nice scope you have. Something I rather like the idea of myself. Please post a first light report when you get out with it.
