  1. Not sure what connectors come with the Skyfi, but the Celestron wifi adapter you can get plugs into the AUX socket on the Celestron 6SE mount.
  2. Did you plug the Skyfi in the AUX socket OK on the mount? Does it appear in your devices wifi devices it can connect too?
  3. On my synscan controller which I believe will be the same key steps for you also do the following; Switch on the mount. Wait approx 20 seconds whilst it initialises. Press Enter key slowly 12 times (12x) Press key 2 (Rate) 1x Press Enter key 1x Press White triangle key 3x (key to the right of the Info button) Press Enter key 1x Press Right direction arrow control key (black triangle pointing right) repeatedly until the contrast darkens on the display so you can see the text again. Hope that helps get it back for you. 😀
  4. Not sure if these are the same Jeremy that you lost, but some up on ebay at the moment.
  5. In general I use my smaller scopes rather than get my 10” newtonian out. If you think that you will use any scope more at your dark sky site, and need a smaller scope to transport then dropping down to 6” would be more preferable for sure. A scope is only good if you actually use it. If size is an issue that prohibits this then go down in size. There is no perfect scope, hence why a lot of us end up with owning multiple scopes, and no ideal starter scope either, but if you buy a scope then never hardly use it it seems a big waste, so sometimes smaller is better.
  6. Another 50 years on and I’m sure they will have increased by a factor of 10!
  7. I’ll add to some non US content further if we are throwing in watches too! 😉
  8. A few picture cards sets I bought last year. Intend to frame them up at some point hopefully. Plus a Hotwheels Mars Perserverance Rover I couldn’t resist either. 😀
  9. Love it. 😀Just found one on fleabay too and ordered it up. Can’t believe I missed these on the actual anniversary back in 2007. 👍🏻
  10. Nice work Doug. Putting me to shame. Never made it out last night after falling asleep on the sofa at just gone 10pm, so looks like I missed my only opportunity for a while.
  11. Well done. I’ve definitely had more solar viewing this year rather than night time ones. TBH I’ve been extremely busy with work so there have been many times when I wanted to go out at night to observe, but tiredness called a halt to that. Last night been a prime example; was planning to do some double observing, but fell asleep on the sofa at just gone 10pm watching a show, then woke up at just gone 12am and made my way on up to bed.
  12. Nice report Wookie. Your brother definitely enjoyed the session. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
  13. Nice wee session Doug. Mine was even less last night with a very brief spell with my 80ED looking at Jupiter, Saturn and double Eta Cassiopeiae which was a first viewing for me of this double, then back indoors. Tonight is supposed to be clear till about 1am so may try for more targets later on tonight, so may get the large 102mm ED f11 ‘frac out to hunt down more doubles on the Heq5 Pro goto mount.
  14. Actually, no worries. I’ve found a copy of the key chart posted online, so I’ve printed a copy of that one up. 😀
  15. I got a copy of this off flee bay a few months back in very good condition for a 60 year old book. Although I have the clear sheet to measure star positions, I don’t have the smaller key chart and was not aware until now there was one that came with the book until I found this post. As this looks as though it was loose in the book it has obviously been lost at some point. Any chance of a close up image of the key chart and I will see if I can make a copy of it if possible? 😀
  16. Nah, JWST needs a good collimation performing only!
  17. Hi Stevie, and welcome to SGL. Hope you enjoy the site.
  18. Still pumping in the liquid oxygen and hydrogen. Currently at over 81% for oxygen, and over 63% for hydrogen levels.
  19. Always nice to see these back in the sky again, M42 especially. Hope you get over Covid soon. I’ve been pretty lucky not to catch it yet <fingers crossed>.
  20. Took this moon shot earlier this month with my heq5 pro mount using one of my ‘fracs, so as vlaiv says it is OK for planetary/lunar or solar imaging.
  21. Just tried it on my iphone and it’s working there, so I’ll give it a whirl and see.
  22. Doesn’t work on my ipad, so not sure what I’m missing!
