  1. Tak 76 DCU, David - part of the minimalist travel kit (24 mm Panoptic, 13 mm Nagler T6 and Tele Vue NZ 3-6 +/- Vixen HR 3.4).
  2. Sounds a nightmare, Bill - thanks for the warning. I'll probably try to avoid updating!
  3. A nice yoga mat was delivered from Amazon. After tackling it with a pair of scissors, one-third if the mat is providing extra protection for the Tak 76 DCU in its travel bag (already padded). The other two-thirds is going the same for the C9.25 in its bag ?
  4. That would indeed be an interesting comparison!
  5. Is that a display case for all your astro kit behind you, John? ?
  6. Another Neewer bag: this time to carry the Skywatcher AZ-GTi head, tripod and Tracer battery (front bag in pic). This is slightly larger than the Neweer bag which holds the Takahashi FC76 DCU (at the back in pic).
  7. Takahashi FQR-1 finder quick release and Tak MEF-3 micro focuser. Both for the FC76 DCU.
  8. Takahahsi FQR-1 quick release adapter for Tak 6x30 finderscope arrived and installed on the Takahashi FC76 DCU (I also have one on my Tak FS102)
  9. Pocket Borg, with Tak diagonal (and 18 mm eyepiece). I thought it would be amusing to load with with an ES 24 mm eyepiece too.
  10. The Skysensor 2k was launched over 20 years ago and was a great piece of kit. Vastly superior to the lethargic SS3D which preceded it and which I also had.
  11. I went down the f/6.3 reducer and 1.25 inch eyepiece route with my C9.25. I’m now using 2-inch eyepieces, which is giving me better results. This is for wide field views. I still use 1.25-inch eyepieces for planetary observation with shorter FL, though.
  12. Looks great Alan. How is the AZ-GTi handling it? Stable enough?
  13. Great report Chris. Glad to hear it's performing well for you. Are there any other SGL members that have got one of the scopes (apart from John, of course)?
  14. Very nice Alan, but won’t you have to change your icon to a map of the USA. Or at least the Pacific Rim? ?
  15. That’s a lovely rig @AstroKane good luck with the new observing season
  16. Many thanks for the report, Chris. Looks like not too much difference on the targets you looked at. Will be interesting to see how you get on when the transparency is better. There is an image by Nick James taken last night.
