    3mm on Moon is fine. Also on Mars. Not tried higher mags. At home I’ve found the Vixen HR 3.4 works well on planers, but for travel I prefer the flexibility that the NZ 3-6 offers in a single eyepiece

    The NZ 3-6 is part of my minimal airline travel kit with the FC 76 DCU ( and N 13 and Pan 24 + Tak prism diagonal

    Strange day after Sunday’s beautiful weather. Snowflakes first thing now beautiful sunshine. Thought I’d tidy the office and fill the recycling bin. Then I came across this: 🤔

    I had it at mag 7.9 last night. This was an unfiltered CCD measurement which is typically a bit brighter that V band. I’ve seen several vis obs today at 8.1 to 8.5, mostly around 8.2

    Nothing wrong with equipment sentimentality. Im thinking of learning Japanese so I can speak to my Taks more easily.

    If I were going for an FC 100, I’d go for the DZ. Further, for visual I’d save a few Bob and stick with the Tak focuser. Not sure how airline portable, but with the dew shield retracted and accessories removed the length is only 595 mm according to FLO website.
