  1. Thats well captured and a very nice image. It does however show a little too green, but still very nice. Mick.
  2. Hi Alan thanks.Yes i agree i know the dust is there. It is a lovely object to image though. Mick.
  3. Thanks Ceph, totally agree.Weather has been awrful here, how about you. Mick.
  4. Last monday night the sky cleared around midnight, not perfectly but enough to tempt me out.Orion was due South so thought i would have ago at M78. This is a Reflection Nebulae, and is full of dust. The forecast gave 2hrs before the clouds returned, and they return they did.Using my ED102 and Atik 460ex i took 6x 600 secs in Red,and 6x 600 secs in Blue.No Green and no Luminance. I know there is a lot more Dust surrounding the Nebulae, but it would need many more subs to do it justice.I rarely return to an object for more than two nights, because they are often weeks apart, and moving West which is blocked for me. Calibrated as usual. Mick.
  5. Located in Auriga rising nicely in the East, this Emission Nebulae contains a couple of Tadpoles, estimated at 10 it/yrs long. This was taken with my ED102 +0.6 reducer, flattener and an Atik 460ex ccd.Using the Ha and O11 filters.Total imaging time is about 5hrs split between the two. Sky was ok,but Moon was not too far away,it did effect the 12nm O111 a bit though. Calibrated with Bias and Flats only. Cheers. Mick.
  6. Pehaps i over estimated just a little bit😂 Mick.
  7. Hi vlaiv. Yes your right there is and i have posted my attempt at getting it,but did,nt seem to look right.Dont think i have enough data. Mick.
  8. Boy did i sruggle with this Nebulae, known as the Northern Triffid.I did,nt realise how faint this object is.It is both an Emission and a Reflection Nebulae, and is located in Perseus.Even with 5hrs of LRGB i struggled to stretch this Nebulae without it badly deteriorating into noise. It was taken with a ED102 with a x0.6 reducer an an Atik 460ex ccd.The Luminance hardly added anything at all,so next time i will go RGB.It needs a dark sky.The Moon was present at half phase but was to the south of this Nebulae. It does have some blue star halos, which are,nt easy to cure. Mick.
  9. A very nice image, and a great write up. Mick.
  10. Great image indeed.Lost count after 2 million.🤣 Mick.
  11. Thats worked very well indeed.Nice image. Mick.
  12. Lovely colours, some of the best i,ve seen on this Nebulae.Very nice. Mick.
  13. Very colourful.very nice wide field image. Mick.
  14. Thats a cracker, its looks looking through a window in to space. Mick.
  15. Hi Folks. Last night was wicked, very rare on the East Coast,so got out early.I settled on IC 1805 in Cassiopia, and decided to do a HOO image. I used my newly(second hand) and very well liked Atik 460ex and my ED 102 with a x0.6 Reducer. The Nebulae proved too large to get it all in, so maybe a mosaic could be tried.😬 I think this has to be the longest session i have tried as i spent about 7hrs in total with this Nebulae. I do like the dusty regions within the the Nebulae and the hot young Stars at its centre known as Melotte 15. It has been fully calibrated. I thought i would also post the Starless image because i really like it. Cheers. Mick.
  16. That all makes a lot of sense, and its one hell of a Star field. Mick.
  17. Morning Olly. I take back the above comment.I failed to read your answers to above comments.Apparently the softness is caused by the effects on the stars by the Rasa.Do you know why it has this effect? Mick.🤐
  18. These are cracking images, under difficult conditions, exerllent. Mick.
  19. Lovely round stars.A bit more exposure will bring out the lovely Nebulosity. Well done. Mick.
  20. This has the makings of a great image.I await the colour. Mick.
  21. Very nice image indeed.Love the blue colour. Their are ways to control the core, and good tutorials are available for this. However its lovely. Mick.
  22. To be honest this is a bit of a dissapointment for me Olly, seems to lack your usual clarity and exerllence. Perhaps a little more sharpening. However its still a pleasing image, just not your best. Mick.
  23. Totally agree, looking forward to more clear skies.☹️ Thanks for that.
