  1. Hi Simon. Have,nt given up on the camera.I think its one or two things. The files were corrupted by downloading to the original USB stick,or something on your PC did,nt like it.Personally i think its the first one.Have now downloaded fresh drivers onto to a different USB. I,m trying to get an old PC up and running to test, but it has,nt been used for a while. I will keep you posted because i feel bad about selling you something we cant get working I dont give up easily. Nice to see you both as well. I,ll be in touch. Mick.,
  2. Actually i think its getting a bit pointless posting on here.
  3. Thanks Lee. I,m more than happy with it. Mick.
  4. Hi the Jellyfish in Gemini. This is my first image with my new(well third hand Atik 460ex)Bought on ABS,very nice indeed. Just not into cmos at the mo,although everything seems to be gearing up for these cameras.Dont know why,no amp glow with ccd. So i put it to use on a couple of recent nights on the above Nebulae. Its a narrowband image using Ha and O111. I took about 2.5hrs amid the constant clouds that were passing through, guide star pinging constantly.(Frustration) So about 2-3hrs on two seperate nights. Fully calibrated. See what you think. Mick.
  5. Hi Paul yes,its both an Emission and Refection Nebulae. There is a lot more to bring out with a lot more data, but the UK well you know. Mick.
  6. Dont worry about what it look like Martin, although i,m sure it will be ace. Thanks. Mick.
  7. Hi. Known as the Flaming Star Nebulae located in Auriga.(Surrounding the massive star AE Auriga.) It is an RGB image,as i have had no luck getting any Ha due to the weather.(Normal then)🙃 Using my 102mm scope fitted with a x0.6 Reducer and an Atik 314L+ccd. Each channel got about 1-1.5hrs,hoping for more but a waiting game. Calibrated with Bias and Flats. Cheers. Mick.
  8. Very nice indeed Carole.A good narrowband image. I,m thinking of getting a 460EX. Mick.
  9. Well i like it.Proberbly close to how it would appear in Space. Everyone seems to want the multi-couloured swap shop version these days.😂 Now dont bite my head off.🙃 Mick. Oh and so do two others.👍
  10. This is a faint one,a bit of a struggle for my Canon 1100D even with the Optolong L-Enhance Filter. Located in Northern Cygnus high in the sky. I took about 3hrs of subs at 800 iso and a duration of 480 secs. I only calibrated with Flats. Reminds me a bit of the Cocoon Nebulae. Mick.

Thats very impressive Rod.You have worked hard on this and it shows. Dont think i have seen one better. Mick.
  12. Hopefully a bit better.
  13. Hi, no your right.Maybe i applied too much sharpening.I,ll have a look. Thanks for pointing that out. Mick.
  14. Hi The popular M27 The Dumbell Nebulae.I took this,i believe it was last Monday night, when the Moon was waning and rose a little later. My usual equipment of my ED 102 + x0.6 reducer and my Atik 314L+ ccd. It was imaged in the HOO palette with Atronomik 12nm Filters. Stacked in Affinity Photo, and processed in Photo-shop and Lightroom. A total of 15x600 secs for each filter.I would have liked a bit more, but of course the clouds rolled in. Calibrated. Mick.
  15. Hi Ceph. Yes your right,i did struggle with the background.I found it difficult to process the Cresent and leave a natural background. Also putting the stars back into a starless image also gave me results i was.nt happy with.I do like the crescent though. Thanks Ceph. Mick.
  16. Thanks Paul.Appreciate that. Mick.
  17. The crescent Nebulae in Cygnus. Now high over head these Autumn nights,it seemed like a good target to try. HOO with my ED102mm scope and Atik 314L+.(Astronomik 12nm Filters). I got around 3 hrs per filter using 600 secs subs. I purposely did,nt stretch the stars too much,as i did,nt want to overwelm the Cresent. Fully calibrated with Flats and Bias frames. Mick.
  18. Hi. Taken last week on a fairly good night, and managed 3hrs in Ha and O111. Using my ED 102 and Atik 314L+ ccd + x0.6 Reducer. Both filters were Astronomik 12nm. Stacked in DSS and processed in Photo-Shop. Bias and Flats were taken.Have stopped using darks. Cheers. Mick.
