  3. This is a great image of the Pelican, done very well indeed. Just goes to show, always worth setting up.🤔 Mick.
  4. Another lovely image Alan, great colour balance, and quite striking. Mick.
  5. Very nice indeed. You dont see many images of Dark Nebulae on the site,so thanks for posting. Mick.
  6. Thanks everyone. Hi Rodd. Yes i am a Trekie, and i do remember that episode very well, and yes your quite right, was,nt a nice character if i remember.🤔
  7. Thanks indeed.That quote is a first for me.🤣
  8. Hi. This is NGC6914 in Cygnus. It is both an Emission and a Reflection Nebulae. I took this image with my 102ED and Atik 314L+ with a x0.6 Reducer. It is a straight RGB image of about 1.5hrs per channel. I was hoping i could of got some more subs,as the night looked good, but of course in rolled the clouds, and my time was cut short. But it was good to get out. Calibrated with Bias and Flats. Cheers. Mick.
  9. Hi. The camera works with its own software,it also works in Astro-Art and Nebulosity. Its just i like APT. Mick.
  10. It has got Ascom on the Pc,but i will update and try again. Thanks for your help, appreciate it. Mick.
  11. This is lovely, and deserves more comments. Its like looking through a window into the distance. It deserves more than a like button for me anyway. Well done. Mick.
  12. Hi. Can anyone tell me how to image in APT with a non Ascom Starlight xpress ccd camera.I just cant seem to connect. If i open the Select Camera Type Box and look under the ccd/ascom drop down box,my camera is not there. As i understand you can image with a non ascom connection,so any advise please. Cheers. Mick.
  13. This is an image of the Cocoon Nebulae in Cygnus. Taken with my usual set up,and it consists of 1.5hrs of Data for each of Ha/RGB channels.(600 sec subs). Taken over two nights, where as last night the thin high cloud thickened about an hour or so into the imaging, and was cut short. Stacked in DSS and processed in Photo-shop. Bias and Flat frames were applied. Cheers. Mick.
  14. Yes i agree, the temp of the DSLR chip was quiet warm so noise was a prob. But of course no clear skies since.(Integration was 180 sec subs for roughly 2hrs. Thanks anyway. Mick.
  15. Hi. Had a reprocess of my original data,as i was,nt happy with it. I have come up with a starless image which i think shows a fair bit of dust. I struggled to put the stars back without it messing with the Nebulae. If anyone can help s to the best way of doing this,i would be grateful. See what you think,if awful tell me. Mick. I did,nt use sigma clip by accident so a faint meteor trail can be seen.
  16. Are you sure your thinking of the right person Alan.🤣
  17. Thats exerllent Alan, your being far too hard on yourself. I too dont have cooled cmos, but use an old DSLR for these wide shots, and the noise is hopeless in summer. I,d be happy with this image. Mick.
  18. Hi. I took this image last week of IC1318,this is the Nebulosity that surrounds the bright Star Sadr in Cygnus. It is a 2hr image shot using my 102mm ED refractor and my Canon 450D modified camera equiped with a Optolong L-Enhance Filter. Due to the temperature of the sensor,i had to do a fair bit of noise reduction to try and smooth out the image. The subs were120 secs for the duration. Fully calibrated. Cheers. Mick.
  19. Hi. The Cresent Nebulae in Cygnus. Taken using a dual rig and Atik 314L+ and an Atik 320E ccd. Using both 12nm Ha and O111 filters i took 18 x 600 secs for each filter. I was pleased to pull out a little of the O111 shell especialy at only 12nm Filters. Sky conditions were fairly good, their was a Gibbous Moon, but low in the South East. Cheers. Mick.
