  1. Difficult object NGC 4038/4039 they are found in Corvus, especially low in the North Of England.Being so close to the horizon,a lot of subs were rejected due to one thing or another. I just wanted to see if i could image the two arks that swirl away form the Galaxies. These were caused by the two Galaxies colliding, and stripping Stars and Gas out,to form the so called Antennae. Taken with my 102 refractor and an Atik 460 ccd.Its an RGB image only, and in the end i had about 2.5hrs of usable data. The Arcs are faintly visible,so was a bit chuffed. Anyway. Mick.
  2. Hi i imaged this during this last week. It was taken with a 102ED scope at F7 and an Atik 460ex ccd camera. It is a LRGB/Ha image with 1.5 hrs per filter. Calibrated and stacked in DSS and processed in Photo-Shop. I did,nt try for the Flux, just a straight Galaxy image. Cheers. Mick.
  3. Seems like i cant spell evolve.🤣
  4. These will continue to ivolve Mike, but even now are showing exerllent results.I think once the price comes down, and the sensitivity increases, they will give ccd/cmos dedicated cameras a run for their money. Very nice image indeed. Mick.
  5. Really good Carol.I tried the Christmas tree/Cone a little while ago,and just.nt could,nt get the colouring right. Your image is spot on,and a great wide field shot. Mick.
  6. Thanks Carol, comming from you thats high praise indeed. Mick.
  7. Hi. This is the first time i have tried this Nebulae as it is fairly low on the horizon. I took this image over two nights with my ED 102 and Atik 460EX ccd mono camera.I took over 4hrs in Ha and about the same in O111,to create a HOO image. The Moon was out of the way,so that helped.I did calibrate with bias and flats. Staked in APP and processed in Photo-shop. Cheers. Mick.
  8. Its always worth a go,and thanks for the comment. Mick.
  9. Thanks very much Alan. Much appreciated. Mick.
  10. Thanks, yes another one of Orions gems. Mick.
  11. Thanks.I appreciate that. Mick.
  12. Simply the Bogeyman. Usual sig. Mick.
  13. Hi. I took this image last week using my 102 refractor and Atik 460ex ccd mono camera.Located in Orion,it certainly lives up to its name.It was taken using both Ha and O111 filters.A total of 2.5 hrs per filter. Cheers. Mick.
  14. Hi. This was taken over two nights recently, and was taken using both Ha and O111 Filters. Again i used my ED102 scope and an Atik 460ex mono ccd. A total of 3hrs per filter was achieved, and the images were calibrated. The Rosette is a popular target,as it is a fairly bright Emission Nebulae, and is a good alternative for the gems of Orion. Clear skies. Mick.
  15. Hi Carole. It is a difficult target, and yes your very good image does show a lot more of the Angel at the expense of a little more noise. You would think 9 1/2 would have been enough, but may need many more? Mick.
  16. I hope i,m not going to be responsible for demolishing a house.😂
  17. Thanks Lee. Yes its my first attempt at this, and the above describes my efforts.Proberbly wont revisit for a while.😂 Mick.
  18. This Nebulae NGC2170 has nearly driven me mad.It is very very faint and low down in Monoceros.Affected with bad seeing and low down haze, its been challenging to bring anything out.It is supposed to look like an Angel!!! It is a Reflection Nebulae,so i took 4hrs in Luminance and 2hrs apiece in RGB.I have had some clearish nights this week so have been quite lucky.Hope you have too. Noise was a big problem even with my Atik 460ex ccd, also when the RGB subs came in after a 600 sec exposure,i could see nothing.I think thats a first for me. So i have used some noise control to whatever affect.Maybe more exposures and many more hours would help. One for the experts i think. Cheers. Mick.
  19. Thanks Alan,just seen yours though.😪 Mick.
  20. Great work Alan, you have definately captured more dust than me.It is a lovey thing though. Mick.
  21. A small reflection Nebulae in Perseus. Its a nice little thing, quite dusty as well. Taken over two nights with 3hrs of Luminance ,and 2hrs each of Red and Blue. It also includes the dark Nebulae Barnard 1&2. Mick.
  22. Hi Richard. I like it very much, and as you say more data is the way to go,and it will really pop out. Mick.
