  1. Hello and a warm welcome back.
  2. Nice video Victor. I have used this mount for a grab and set up with the ED 72 and it works very well, but I did have to put a longer dovetail on to get a better balance.

    Hi!

Hello and a warm welcome to the SGL.
  4. Very nice set up. It will certainly make observing easier for you. Thinking of trying something similar myself and you have given me food for thought.

  18. There is a good demonstration of the level north alignment process on YouTube . I tried to link this here but it would not work on my IPAD. It’s by the Astronomy and Nature people.

  20. The magnification is given by dividing the focal length of your telescope by the focal length of your eye piece. The focal length of your dob is twice that of your refractor, so the image of the planet will be twice as big in the dob. The image of the planet will not be huge but the resolution given by the larger aperture will allow you to see plenty of detail if the seeing conditions are good. The longer you spend viewing the more you will see, so you have to be patient.
  21. I have not noticed any ghosting with the 4 mm.
  22. An illuminated ep to help centre targets with my AZ GTi mount and an UHC filter so that I might get better views of some of them
  23. You could consider the Sky Watcher UWA eps. I only have the 4 mm but it performs way above its price tag.
  24. On my AZ GTi I have used a SW ED72, a SW ST 102 and a SW 127 Mak. It copes with all of these very easily. Can’t help you with Star Discovery.
  25. I have never seen a really bright meteor. yes it was about 1:30 am I noticed the display above the Campsies so they are getting later.
