  1. live stack screen prints 10 x 30secs
  2. if you get a partner to move it this device becomes a remote controlled over the air focuser. Love it
  3. I think i would say you are "Discomputic" - word made up by my wife to describe herself when using computers . She has lots of problems too 😈
  4. Oops! - wrong link https://sourceforge.net/projects/myfilterwheel-ascom-diy/
  5. https://sourceforge.net/projects/arduinonanodewcontrollerpro/
  6. when it can see a cloud coming and pause image taking or make the clouds skip around my area of sky - thats when it will be a fantastic piece of software until then its just great free piece of software 🙂
  7. LIVE STACK SCREEN PRINT IN ccdcIEL 20SECS X 10
  8. Astrotoaster has no problems with fits from my ASI224MC and native C9.25 f10 - and thats doing it live with no post processing! Attached M57 doing exactly that you might have to choose your objects but go for it its a useful learning curve BEFORE spending heaps of cash (if you must) - its EEVA anything goes - especially if you get enjoyment out of it. 🙂
  9. Even ran it on a Zero HOWEVER IMHO and some practical experience 1. Ethernet speed is alot less and so is the WiFi even with 5G as they share the BUS with USB. 2. USB 2.0 reduced speed due to (1) 3. Asking a lot for running Platesolving and other Apps but they will work just slowlyyyyyy Note I am assuming you are going to use the GUI not just booting up to Command Line and using remote Kstars (or the like) and just Indiserver on the PI 3A+ - the later would allow for more resources. Astroberry will run without the GUI just by using the browser (novnc of course) and controlling the Indi drivers via the Web browser (NO KDE GUI) - you would then run Kstars via a remote pc. Maybe the 4a+ might be due soon 🙂
  10. I thought it was variable but checking it seems not - something less to worry about ! Still pretty sensitive as those images were already the same after 3 frames and no image touch up but "real live" images. An improvement on the old one - 🤔 well its blue not black ! Yes forgot to add text DOH -M76 Little Dumb bell Neb or Cork which ever takes your fancy - in Perseus.
  11. New Lodestar Pro C9.25 no reducer 3 x 35s live stack in CCDCIEL PREVIEW - in Indi no gain changes are allowed - a bit of a problem 🙂
  12. If you read the documentation - as we all do dont we LOL - then reading the link below gives you aree the info you need - only comment is that ASTAP ,while fast, does NOT work at all when the image resultion if below 1300x800 (or there abouts) then I would say ASPS or ANSVR is your best bet. DO NOT USE PS2 for Blind solving - as it correctly states in the Nina doc. I would suggest you save or use some of your images in day time testing if you install ASPS or ANSVR as getting the "index" files can be tricky if you want fast platesolving. The first link applies to ANSVR, Astrotortilla and ASPS even though it reders to Astrotortilla - Hint they ALL use the same routines. https://www.lightvortexastronomy.com/tutorial-setting-up-and-using-astrotortilla-for-plate-solving.html https://nighttime-imaging.eu/docs/master/site/advanced/platesolving/
  13. https://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Lazarus_on_Raspberry_Pi Plus I think I am right CDC and CCDciel are both written in Pascal and run on Mac,Windows and RPI. Talking to Patrick Chevalley might help he is an expert on Pascal 🙂
  14. Dont forget EEVA is not normal Astrophotograhpy (although there is a massive overlap) - The faster the scope (e.g. F2 abouts) and a decent sensitive camera means you dont need a EQ mount or guiding at all,as Martin and others will testify too. If you look back through the older threads you will see many good (for EEVA) pictures by Hildon,Martin and lots of others. While the EEVA section is a broad cummunity maybe being honest with your goals would help - especially on the wallet side - going down the wrong road. Just saying 🙂
  15. This might also help - "simpler site" (still uses the same calculation) for those ,like me, who like to see a traffic system rather than just numbers is https://astronomy.tools/calculators/ccd_suitability
  16. Think that is M82 - here was my attempt live stacked Bin x 1 - 224mc plus c9.25 no reducer but guiding - it is possible but need very clear nights and lots of stacks IMO. So using a better F will produce a better pic than the one below - sky was very bad and out of focus a bit - plus 50% moon
  17. This might help https://agenaastro.com/articles/guides/focusers/focal-reducers-guide.html#introduction
  18. You also have to make sure the the Noise reduction settings (if your camera has them) are switched off else on Linux (Gphoto/Canon driver) it causes aborts and leaves "zombie threads" - its in the FAQ for DSLR - On my camera the bottom right of the LCD just keeps flashing or I get a display on the Camera LCD saying "recording". No other recourse but to switch of the Camera, Power off the PI. Then make sure the Noise reduction setting is switched off before starting again. https://www.indilib.org/devices/cameras/gphoto.html I use a RPI3b+ 1GB and it has no problems with running a DSLR (Canon 100d) so unless you have something else that is eating memory I doubt your 4gb is running out of memory(RAM). Also check you SD card - High quality Samsung and Sandsk(SanDisk Extreme MicroSDHC 100MB s A1 C10 V30 UHSI U3 32GB) should be used - cheapo ones can cause problems.
  19. If you want an update button and simple working maybe this is more to your liking. https://astrophotoplus.gulinux.net/installation It assumes that you are to use a RPI (for which there is an full image - AKA like Astroberry) Its basic (whatever that means but it does lack a few bells and whistles !) runs across Mac,Windows and any Linux browser. It uses "standard" Raspbian based Indiserver just like Astroberry. But for those wanting a "button" it has an UPDATE button - note this updates Indi not the computer you are accessing it from. For those looking for a free lite Phone/Tablet control , out in the field then maybe it might be of use/help. Did basic testing and it works on Firefox (Windows or Linux) with a DSLR ok but 34mb fits do take a number of seconds to download and display. Not sure how often it will be updated. It maybe of interest to some and is another string to your bow or something more to confuse you. 🙂
  20. I think you will find Charle Babbage used "punched" cards in the deveopment of what is excepted as the Worlds first "computer" - albiet mechanical. I ignore of course Jacquard. Perhaps you should read this https://whatis.techtarget.com/reference/History-of-the-punch-card. Sorry but if history is quoted it must be factual - not altered , ignored because it offends some people - as it seems todays society seems to do. Ok we should start another thread if you want a debate or discussion on this subject - which I have always been told is a good thing and I take or give no offence. Ok sorry to the owner of this thread 😞
  21. Actually thats the wrong way round, punch cards came way before Paper tape. 🙂
