  1. I don't wear eyeglasses and I find that a single extender works for me. I use these 32mm TV plossls in binoviewers with VG success and also with my Quark.
  2. The TV eyeguard extender transforms this eyepiece, I own 2 now.
  3. Great viewing with the 10" and binos with the Aurora being a very nice bonus :icon_biggrin:

  4. The little 200mm f3.8 mirror is being figured, the rest of the scope is nearly completed- not long now

  5. Congrats Mike! Getting a mirror that big and that accurate is a testament to OOUK's ability. Its going to do great nestled in that mirror cell you made Mike.
  6. I have just suffered a moment of weakness and ordered another Docter 12.5mm UWA.... my respect is deep for this EP and hope to use them in the Binotron 27's as they are worthy themselves

You know what?fall? no way, UH UH, forget it! Everyone should experience this place in the middle of January

I mean , theres braggin rights involved with observing in -30c :cheesy:

  7. Crystal clear out- what do I look for, what scope do I try? Waste time on really faint stuff or cherry pick some nice objects?

I have so much I want to see...

    1. Pig

      Pig

LoL Gerry :icon_biggrin: it sounds like you have to cherry pick ...... or you could point each scope at different objects.

We did good Shaun... 2 scopes, richfield and some great 15" views. Pickerings Triangle showed a great black hole in the middle of it with great tendrils off to the sides...

Power was out here for 11 hours, they are getting the lines ready for winter lol!

  8. Thank you very much John, I will use this as an option for the scope and explore the availability of the adapters. Your set up is a very stable platform to observe from, eagerly waiting more reports!
  9. You have a fantastic set up John, what great scopes. If I may ask- what mount do use on the wooden tripod? Would this mount be a direct fit for the Oberwork? I may need a sturdy mount for a little newt that is upcoming.
  10. It focuses  The Zeiss 25.1mm - 6.7mm now works in my 15" dob :hello2:

I compared to the LZ which is my most in focus loving eyepiece and it had - by eye- about 1/4" left, the ZZ about 3/8". I'm not sure if infinity is reached at 1500 yds in this scope though. Still the relation ship stays- the LZ focuses on the stars and the ZZ needs more out focus than the LZ, so it should focus.

      Excellent news then :-)

  13. I can't wait until you guys bring those wicked, big dobs with you I'm thinkin' the views might be pretty good
  14. Now that is fine craftmanship! Excellent job I love the color and finish of the wood and those proper big bearings are going to allow you great flexibility in the balance of the scope. And yes, patience is a virtue with the optician, these fast mirrors are not easy to make espc at your high spec!
  15. Ordering a VX8 f3.8 rich field from OOUK, :), 5.5mm exit pupil with the 21E and a nice 2.7 deg TFOV...

Great, I believe you'd been considering this for some time, are you planning on using the same mount as your ED120?

The mount- I'm not sure what mount to use- I wonder if a HEQ5 will work? I was also thinking of a DiskMount...any suggestions welcome Iain!

  18. As the moon sets, the Milky Way appears, the transition is amazing.

F7 should be good, to me fast starts less than f6... Does The Eudiascopic have PC or is it neutral?

    3. Pig

      Pig

No PC at all, I thought the name had a link with Euclidean...IE flat geometry

      Good one Stu!

I hope that society can realize the damage that is done from all this energy use and sky wrecking.

  21. Still laughing Calvin I must say though that I have a new found respect for Mr Faulk's work and an ongoing respect for Swampthings wood working skills... I had a sneeking suspicion that Mike could produce great work after seeing his Nexus fabrication... Great job guys!
  22. The Binotrons arrived :)
