  1. You can but it’s tight with 44mm back spacing to the lens collar. Taking 17.5mm back focus for the average camera leaves 26.5mm to fit filter wheel and adapters. Atik EFW is 22mm so this just leaves 4.5mm for adapters. Off the shelf Canon-M48 adapters measure 10mm. This means you end up too far away and can’t reach focus at infinity. I have made up a custom M54-Nikon lens adapter that has a length of about 7mm. This works because the Nikon lens back focus is 46.5mm. I think that you could use a EFW with this lens but it wound require a thin EFW (I think QHY make one at 17mm) and a custom adapter.
  2. It never is dull. If it’s not the weather it’s equipment 🤷‍♂️
  3. Tonight would have been first light with the 268M save for the fact my 12v power supply just filled the dome with smoke 👎🏻 New one ordered, so I’m expecting clear skies for the next two days whilst I’m without power and then snow when it arrives.
  4. My NBZ filter arrived, any chance of a clear sky in 2021 🤷‍♂️
  5. Thanks Beulah. It has a nice elevated spot next to a couple of poly tunnels I build. Handy for a midnight snack 😂
  6. I am not sure then. But they must be present in the subs as coloured dots.
  7. Stacking with sigma clipping will probably remove them.
  8. I know the feeling! I suppose an example is a convertible as a second car, you would pay for the car, plus ownership costs of road tax and insurance but only use it when the weather is good. Would that be acceptable? To me it would! But I dont think I could go back to a DSLR though.
  9. I fill the time between clouds and rain with browsing the forums, reading up on new equipment, footering with my own gear, etc. I dont feel it to be too big a burden only getting a few nights nights a month. But I also have a very busy life outside of astronomy, I have young children, I run a business and have other professional commitments to complete. There is the right balance of skies for me at the minute. I do get frustrated, but this makes the enjoyment better when it is clear. I also like knowing that I have the equipment there, and feel that I have accomplished something that not many people have. I dont think I've ever really thought about not buying stuff based on the lack of use.
  10. Awesome! Googled it there, pretty rural 👍🏻
  11. I use SGPro but find APT does the same job. There after differences but if your used to APT there is no need to change.
  12. I suppose if it’s in all frames and calibrates out then it isn’t a problem? First cmos and OSC too so all ears
  13. I assumed this was a different lion nebula but it is actually the one I was thinking of. The orientation and fov and sheer quality made it unrecognisable.
  14. It's a lot of money, so best to get concerns addressed! But i'm now concerned I've got 3 hot pixels and you only have 2 😂
  15. This is my master dark, 30s, gain 100, offset 50, temp -10.
  16. Can’t help except to add that I’ve observed this with my 2600MC also. I’ll be interested in the replies 👍🏻
  17. Cheers Ciaran. Can’t wait to see your images from the camera. Weather is pretty dire.
  18. Thanks, going to do my calibration tonight. I was aiming for -10deg, that should be ok?
