    3. Marki

      Marki

Still an Alfa - Giulietta this time - gone back to petrol after my excursion into diesel ownership - and just as diesel is cheaper than petrol for the first time in years - doh!

    4. nightfisher

      nightfisher

The Giulietta is still a rather nice car, and it sounds like the gov are thinking about turning against diesel cars

  2. Depressed after Mot and service (and significantly lighte rin the wallet department)

I have a vision of you turning up at a star party on a bike with an f13 rocket launcher on your shoulder

      Marki

Mmm - could work, eyepieces in the paniers, tube strapped across my back...red lights at the rear...but how to carry the mount?

  3. TAL125r on the mount and cooling... :)

      Marki

Same here. As it went dark, I got it all aligned and then clouded over within 30 mins. Went inside. Looked out when I went to bed and it was totally clear, so nipped out with my bins for 20mins :), so not a totally wasted night.

    4. xtreemchaos

      xtreemchaos

all i got was a few widefeild shots just to try the ed and then it was just clouded out by1210am

Rain is just daft. After all this time, it still hasn't grasped the idea that sometimes its useful to fall upwards.

    4. Marki

      Marki

Yup - same here - but when it was shapr it was glorious - I was using my 4" f13 last night and it was way better (sharper/clearer - betterdetail) than my 125mm f8.9 was the night before

  7. Forecast looks promising - may as well go set-up in optimism :)

Sky clear enough, but the moon is really bright :) Just have to look at that instead :). Its as much trying out the 6" on the azeq6 - seems reasonably stable so far.

      AndyH

Has it hit Londonium yet, or has the tracking gone into limbo? I've had that happen a few times and it's most frustrating :(

  13. Supposedly clear sky is actually pretty murky - hopefully the bright stuff will still shine through :)

    1. Qualia

      Qualia

    2. Marki

      ghostdance

Wow, I never get bored of god moving the furniture! Next to a clear dark sky, give me a grand thunder storm any day rather than orange-grey gloop :)

Nice one Jules. I spent a couple of hours with the TAL125r, and bagged a few doubles and a smattering of Messiers. Actually spent more time with my bins, looking at the double cluster, M45 and so on. Good night :)

  23. Urghh - just got home after a 500 mile drive, and now too tired to observe - bet its cloudy tomorrow!

    1. nightfisher

      nightfisher

Marki, you should have nailed a few hours sleep and got up about 5am for some lunar/ planetary, with orion added in the plot for a bonus

    2. Stargazer33

      Stargazer33

Last night my wife and I were out at dance practice - currently trying to learn Ballroom & Latin! Came home at a little after 22:00 after 2 1/2 hours of practice to see the moon rising low over the houses and a perfectly clear sky, with what looked like excellent seeing. Equally too tired to set up the scope to do some observing!

Clouds are already rolling in this afternoon, ready for the rain showers tonight!

  24. Debating whether any point setting up tonight...forecast pretty poor.
