    Hi all!

Have you got a reflector telescope with twin vanes holding the secondary.
  3. Tonight is supposed to be good here, came down at 4.15am went outside there was Gemini, Auriga, Orion, Hyades and the Pleiades all in a row with Perseus above. Got my binoculars out had a look around for 5 minutes then the view changed thin cloud then thicker cloud I could only see Betelgeuse looked towards the horizon and fog was everywhere just shows how it can change in a matter of minutes.
  4. I will get the Tal out tomorrow been the hospital today so didn't have chance.
  5. A bit out of my price range but I bet I would like it.
  6. Not many about though I have been looking.
  7. I have the 11mm and it's brilliant I sold the 20mm to have funds for a 21mm hyperion second hand but I didn't like it and sold that which left the gap, you live and learn.
  8. Great Nick delights to come in a month or two for us who view at regular hours 😀 Tuesday is supposed to be clear this week so hoping get out.
  9. Having 3 Achromatic refractors and stupidly selling a 20mm TeleVue plossl I now find myself going from a 32mm GSO to the 25mm BST then to a 15mm BST so I need suggestions for a eyepiece between 18mm and 21mm to fill that gap. I would love a old vixen silver top I have the 10mm and it is brilliant but they are rare and expensive, I have tried Baader hyperions and just don't get on with them, I did have a 18mm BST so I would consider one of them but if there is any eyepieces 19 or 21 that may be the way to go. What do you all think please.
  10. That tripod is a work of art really nice I would love one of them for my set up.

    Hi all

    A warm welcome to SGL
  12. Just seen this on a Facebook page keep your eye on your power tanks when charging them.
  13. Oh don't I know it just have to see how the 1.2billion super computer works at the met office next year for that money I want to know how many rain drops are going to hit the roof of my house.
  14. Well astropanel says clear all night however clear outside says clear up until 11pm but met office says cloudy all night so I am just going to keep my eye out and going by that rather than taking these forecasts as factual.
  15. Wow just watched both of these fascinating stuff don't make them like that anymore British ingenuity at its best.

    Hi All

    A warm welcome to SGL
  17. What exposure and iso do you set at I have a galaxy S10 with pro mode so I can set them there thanks.
  18. One of my favourite objects is the "Blue Snowball" NGC 7662 I usually find it in my 25mm like you it just doesn't focus but up the mag a bit and the blue comes out brilliant object. These 4" achro`s really punch above there weight I love mine. Great report some fine objects there and thanks for posting.
  19. May I ask are you using a phone adapter or just hovering over the eyepiece if the latter which one please.
  20. I always polar align without weights and ota but I then check it again when loaded up. I find when starting off forget the star alignment goto a bright star centre it by pressing back once then back again but hold it, it will then flash up centre object always finish with left and up on the handset (Helps with backlash) leave it tracking then goto another star or object at the moment Saturn and Jupiter make ideal candidates centre that object like before. Now without moving the scope go in and do a two star alignment the mount knows where it is already the first star will be off but not by much the second will be even closer in the FOV after that goto a known object. I have found this to be the work around for the mounts idiosyncrasies usually everything is either dead centre or really close but definitely in the FOV.

  22. Just a quick one what mount have you got that 130mm on please.
  23. Watching any transit is a treat to the eyes, brilliant.
  24. Great session I set up last night hoping for a good night and I had NGC6826 on my list as I had not seen that before. Cloud rolled in so the night was a let down. Thank you for posting some great targets there.
