  1. Took the cap out of my binoculars to put on a tripod, come to put the cap on and the thread is too short I never saw anything fall off I now need to replace it or contact Revelation to see if they can help me out.
  2. Two friends my brother and I used to go wild camping all over North Wales many years ago, went back to one place several times as the farmer said we could and we were the only ones who left the campsite like we found it. Being out in the wild no street lights the skies were amazing we all bought cheap 10x50 binoculars and saw many clusters and fuzzies, in them days never new what they were. Several years later when I was married with children taking them camping we even went to Cornwall in 1999 and watched the eclipse it was then I went the library and started to read. When I had enough money I bought a 6" Telescope on a eq3-2 mount with Turn Left for Orion. This was the beginning of this great adventure where I have met some wonderful people and got some really good friends cannot get any better.
  3. Great report very informative report.
  4. Brilliant read Dave owl nebula I have never seen.
  5. Great read @Kon thoroughly enjoyed that so many nebulas many I have never seen. They in your description I could see in my mind.
  6. Fantastic read Magnus and some great objects there I've seen the pup once I thought I may get it when I split Rigel which is supposed to be a indicator to the seeing and transparency. The Leo trio still eludes me as does M51 from home.
  7. Brilliant Nick a fabulous read I'm going to copy those clusters and a couple of of those doubles and triples. I would of loved to have gone out last night I will get another night I know It's great to view with a friend you both can suggest objects. The company is always welcome on those cold nights clear here until 11.30pm then clouded over despite saying clear all night. Let's hope for many more of these nights this year.
  8. Yes checked the handset firmware is up to date and the gears sound exactly the same we have adjusted those Allen screws and the grub screw and you are correct the nuts inside where very tight had to adjust them too so that they were not tight but with no play.
  9. I would have strip it down again I'm waiting for a clear night to try it again. If I centre a object and press the right button then let up it keeps going for far too long. When I am viewing I can centre a object say Vega go to Capella come back to Vega and its not even in FOV. I have checked my polar scope that's Bob on and when I polar align its damn near close if not spot on as I am visual only I have a little leeway. Very frustrating I paid £85 to a well known telescope company to strip regrease and set up and it was great for 6 months but now seems to be getting worse every time I have taken it out. My son and I have just adjusted the worm gear so it's not tight but not loose it does feel better just need get it under the stars to try it. I appreciate you taking the time to help though.
  10. Can I send you my EQ5 to get the backlash out of it been trying for weeks but I am not mechanically minded 😃
  11. I will stick to putting the information in manually using synscaninit for that price I cannot see the benefit really.

  13. Clear outside has been promising clear nights but for the last 12 weeks I had nothing, tonight was supposed to be clear and at 5pm looked promising but as the time went on the clouds have rolled in once again.
  14. Wish I had known about this I would of definitely picked it up and I'm only 5/6 miles away.
  15. Thank you for posting as the weather has not been great here for over 12 weeks it's nice to read reports from someone has had a chance to get out. Some great objects there well done.
  16. I want to get out and observe I'm hoping 2022 has a lot more clear nights as this year has been terrible if I have been out a dozen times I've been lucky. I'll health as well my back has inhibited me but I'm on more painkillers now which seems to be helping. I'm getting a new tent in the new year and want to camp out a few more times hoping to arrange a meet end of March beginning of April somewhere near Buxton I have a site in mind just need to scope it out.
