  1. Thinking of getting Skywatcher Skymax 180, Got the Skywatcher 127mm Skymax Maksutov but thinking about how much more better the 180mm would be for the moon and planets than what I already have. :)

      I agree a heavy scope. I had a Skymax 180 for a little while and it sat quite happily on an HEQ5 for both visual and Imaging.

      But the HEQ5 really is the minimum.

      I seriously want to get a Skymax 180mm and got the 127 Skymax Mak at the moment on an Orion Optics Deluxe Alt Az Mount, hope this mount will be OK for a 180mm though. http://www.orionoptics.co.uk/MOUNTS/alt-azmount.html

      If anyone can help me and be able to tell me if the mount I am using for my Skywatcher 127mm Mak would be fine with the 180mm Mak I would be greatful, posted a link of it above. Thanks :) Matt
