  1. Hiya, I got the Orion Optics Paragon mount and it has an adjustable set of legs and has a counterweight at the end but it's not visible on the photo but it's a single weight to balance things, the only problem is when I want to try and lay back on my reclining chair I can't really use them on the mount as such but it's not a huge problem as I normally have to adjust the legs and the height through a handle which I have to turn and place the mount with the binoculars in to a suitable position up against the side of the reclining chair and then have to loosen all of the screws and bring the binoculars forward while I lay back on the chair which can be a little uncomfortable but the mount normally is leaning forwards when I am looking at an object like for instance comet jacques in cassiopeia which is quite high up so sometimes the mount ends up against the side chair which means the mount sometimes has to tilt towards me and then one of the legs of the mounts ends up lifting from the group. Hope I have explained it clearly though and also have my Skywatcher Powertank 7AH to the side with a small hairdryer for any dew that may get on the lenses on the Helios Apollo 15x70s HD. Thinking of also getting the Helios Apollo HD 20X110 or the Helios Apollo HD 28X110
  2. The Helios Apollo 15X70 HD Binoculars are the best binoculars in the world, got a pair and there more there amazing!!!
  3. Thinking of getting Skywatcher Skymax 180, Got the Skywatcher 127mm Skymax Maksutov but thinking about how much more better the 180mm would be for the moon and planets than what I already have. :)

The skymax 180 is 7.8kg, your mount is rated to 7kg. Not sure what the margin for error is but I don't think I would risk if. You *may* get away with it for visual although I suspect that vibrations will be a bit of a nightmare when focusing or it's windy. I think imaging would be very difficult.

Looks like the skymax 150 is 5.6kg, just for your info :)

Thanks, Probably wouldn't go for the Skymax 150 as it's only an inch bigger to what I have but the 180mm is appealing but if all else fails I can always buy another mount if I have too though. :)

  4. Thinking buying the Helios 28x110 Apollo Binoculars, have the Helios 15x70s already but if anyone has the 28x110 I would appreciate any comments and opinions on what to expect.

  14. Took these photos on the 24/11/11 in my garden in Torquay UK on a very cold night but clear night. Still have not mastered the Nexstar as its new but learning and you could tell how cold it was by looking at the tube of the scope which had frost but my 9x50mm Skywatcher Finderscope had a lot of dew as well as the main tube!
  15. Various photos of the Skywatcher 127 5" Maksutov Scope, The Black Diamond 127 Mak I just bought and selling the blue tube one but having problems mounting the black one on a Skywatcher AZ GOTO mount and seems that the finder is upside down and also the Skywatcher Logo is no where to be seen, Its actually under the black tube but its down to the dovetail and I am not sure what kind this is so if anyone can help and tell me what they think it is then I can hopefully rectify this and maybe a Vixen but not to sure but the scope fits on the mount but when you do the finder and the various things like focuser are in the wrong place. Have taken 2 photo of the underside of both 127 5" Mak's and the dovetails but not sure if that is a dovetail on the new one which is the Black 127 5" Skywatcher OTA one. Any help as I am a novice would be of help. Many Thanks Matt
