  1. i'm on a bortle 5 sky and i want to do photography but also visual. The price is a factor. The mount is a vixen super polaris mount (green version)
  2. I want to do astrophotography but also visual.
  3. Hi all I want to upgrade from an orion 130/650 10 year scope to a 150/750 new scope. I'm in doubt about the Skywatcher 150/750 PDS version and the non PDS version. Besides the focuser 1/10 difference, what is the diferences between this scopes? Thanks
  4. Buy some nuts, 3/4/5 mm and try them on the bolts
  5. Have to make an adapter for the webcam so that it fits the tube, but that depends on the webcam
  6. Hi all I'm looking for a cheap webcam that can be used for collimation and use one of the programs that sets some circles on the screen My question is about the webcam to use. I could use anyone out there with low resolution, but many don't allow to change the focus in windows which i think it's the most important feature, and i'm looking for one that has it enabled. Do you know one webcam that you are sure that feature is available? Thanks
  7. Nice project. What webcam can be used? Must be able to focus on windows and cheap. Most webcams don't say if they can be focused in windows or not...
  8. Hi all. I have this mount (a Vixen Polaris i think) with a 130/650 Newt on it. Do you think it can hold a 200/1000 Newt? The intent is to do astro-photography. Thank you
  9. Hi. I have a vixen GP-DX ( or i think it is. I bought second hand) that i might think of selling. It comes with a gotonova kit from ioptron from many years ago . It does goto but not autoguiding. It tracks well and it is on a fair condition.
  10. An update on this issue. I've bought a shoestring usb to see if the problem was the QHY5 camera. But it was not. Looks like the Ioptron guidebox is bad. I've emailed ioptron for support but they didn't replied. So i've placed the whole controller to sell on the sell section of europe. Anyone interested?
  11. That was the alignment without the interference of the primary mirror. Afterwards i've uncovered the primary and the final result is this. I wonder if its ok... The blackness square in the center is the center spot .
  12. Hi all I'm attempting to collimate my 150/650 Orion Newt scope with the application found here https://github.com/sajmons/CollimationCircles and a gopro like camera, which shows on the img2 img1 shows the papers on the scope to be easier to see things. img2 shows the image on the camera screen. img3 shows the application put on top of the image returned by the camera on the computer. My question is the secondary ok?
  13. Hi. great app. Thanks for the effort. Here are some pics. BTW, I have some sugestions. Could you define fixed keys for resizing of the selected circle. Because if i click the keys of resizing for instance, when i get to the image and move the arrows it changes the resizing but if i change the position of the window, and i move the arrow keys, the window moves.
