    hi tonny, and welcome to sgl and the wonderful world of astronomy. some one will be along soon to help. i know a fast reflector of around 8" upwards will work for visual and astrophotography . but the mount is important

    great location. just some where high up as they are quite low in the sky, especially from your location. dont worry to much about light pollution either. planets are fine

    my Antares secondary came from Canada a few weeks ago. in nothing but layers and layers of bubble wrap. 535$ and it came like that. crazy. it was ok though 😁

    why didnt you just extend the tube at the bottom by say 100mm then mount your primary further down ?

    if you rotate your secondary this should bring your centre spot back to centre. then adjust your secondary screws to get your mirror clips back in view

    also consider the mechanics of the scope. balance and focuser 😁

    hi niallk. utterly amazed. just fitting my nrw antares secondary to my dob thinking wow this mirror cost the same as my wifes dob 🤣

    i cant believe how good it was, didnt even check colimation. all my eps were brilliant. very sharp. quite surprised that 250x on orion was as good as it was. my wife was well chuffed. was ment to be for xmas, but she did let me have my new antares 1/30 secondary for my dob 😆 not many people buy a new scope and get first light on the same day it arrived
